The Giant Mountains belong among the highest European mountains. Its scenery is wonderful. The treasures of this area include an extraordinary flora and fauna and the unique northern tundra on the mountain range. The Giant Mountains region features the highest peak of the Czech Republic - Snežka with the altitude of 1602 meters above the sea level as well as other hills and peaks: Studnicni Mountain (1554 m.a.s.l.), Lucni Mountain (1547 m.a.s.l.), Liščí Mountain (1363 m.a.s.l.), Černá Mountain (1299 m.a.s.l.), Jelení vrch (1024 m.a.s.l.) and Ruzova Mountain where the Upa River flows.
Pec Pod Sněžkou - Velká Úpa
Velká Úpa (700 meters above sea level) is a quite part of Pec pod Snežkou which is one of the most well-known and most frequented mountain resorts in the Czech Republic. It is a mountain village with a traditional architecture respecting mountain nature and is rich in history and traditions. It is surrounded by dense forests. The hotel accommodation allows you to either relax in quiet hotel surroundings or to have some fun in a close centre Pec pod Sněžkou.
